The price of different goods, services, and equipment is typically denoted in "" (which stands for "gold pieces" or "gold piece equivalent"). But this does not mean everything is bought and sold using gold coins. There are numerous currencies that all have different values.

Property Prices

Many types of equipment have a listed price. This does not mean that every piece of equipment of that type costs that much. Rather, it is a baseline price for the most basic form of that equipment without any additional properties or abilities. Sometimes equipment with additional properties are available for purchase at GM discretion. These typically multiply that type of equipment's base price by some amount as listed below. Although a piece of equipment may technically have some calculated price, it is not necessarily actually available for purchase at a given location or at its nominal price. For instance, morganti or dirtydark items are not freely floating on the open market. You may have to find some seedy black market seller to acquire such goods. And rare materials such as mithril or spiga silk may only be available from certain specialty dealers.

In most cases, multiple properties can be added to the same item and the total price can be determined by multiplying all the multipliers together. But material properties are typically compatible and cannot be added to the same item.
